This trail is a must if you plan to visit Albania! Although it is doable to drive the whole loop within a single day we would suggest that you plan at least 2 or 3 days since there's plenty of things to do around Theth.
The northern part of the trail (road SH21) is much easier since it's mostly paved. An unpaved section only stretches between the pass and the Theth valley. For that reason it's pretty crowded, since most of people coming to Theth will drive this road in both directions.
The southern part is longer and much more interesting in terms of off-road driving. It offers greater views, too! Most people seem to drive this route on their way back from Theth to Shkoder. Driving in the opposite direction is also possible thanks to many turn-outs in the narrower sections.
The best free camping spot is south of Theth village at the following GPS coordinates: N 42 22.103 E 19 47.361. It is a huge, flat meadow with easy access to the river.

In 2022 was party from Skoder to Teth (norden part of trail) with new tarmac. On the end of september many cars. Great sceneries. Teth is overpriced turistic place with no autenthicity. Southern part is upaved, but akbanians are building s new road there. Some parts are rocky and little difficult, but we did it with slightly modified 2WD. We strongly recomend ignore oficial “kamping” (building on the right side ho road, place for cars on the left). Man want 10e for car/bike and offers no service.

J'ai suivi cette trace en Août 2024 en moto - XTZ750.
Des travaux en cours sur la partie droite de Teth vers Shkoder, certaines parties très rocailleuses en moto mais rien d'insurmontable
