일정 설명
This is an interesting drive on its own, through a remote part of Albania near the border to Greece. It is also the way to and from the trail-head for climbing Mali i Stugares (see Wikiloc #6369656). For the latter, the aim is to reach the village of Kocat.
This can be done from Sarande. Up to the village of Dhiver is asphalt. From there, a reasonable dirt track leads to Leshnicë. In Leshnice, cross a river and follow a track to Kocat, where the road ends. For those not planning to climb Mali i Stugares, you may skip the excursion from the ford to Kocat.
To continue the 4WD journey, back at the ford, continue the road to Leshnice e Siperme. According to old maps, the road ends here. A new track has been established a few years ago, but from way point 05 up to the first pass at way point 07, the road is in poor condition due to erosion. A rather uncomfortable spot is near way point 06, where the road goes over a bump (so you don't see where you are going), makes a sharp turn with a steep gradient, along a precipitous drop, all at the same time.
After waypoint 07, you can relax, as the road is in reasonable condition, though it is still a long way to Kakavije.
From Sarande to Kocat (or Leshnicë) is easy to moderate. A short piece (up to waypoint 07) is technically not difficult, but exposed. Caution is advised where the road is possibly damaged through erosion. At one or two spots, it might be advisable to explore the road on foot before attempting to drive.
At waypoint 08, you reach the highest point of the drive, close or just above 900 Meter. From here to Kakavije is moderate to easy.
The road leads through remote terrain that seems to see very little traffic.
The indicated time of almost 12 hours includes a climb up to the summit of Mali i Stugares!

I see increased activities with first days of spring:) Do you have information what is road condition from Pogradec to Prespa lake and than from Korce to Sarande. How long it would take? I plan to come in June with group of mountaineers from my club to hike along Prespa lake and than drive to Sarande. All the Best!
Hi, Pogradec to Prespa would perhaps be 1.5 hours (new narrow asphalt)
Korca to Saranda is ok, but long. You go from Korce to Erseke to Permet to Gjirokaster to Saranda - all asphalt, partly broken asphalt, partly very good, more than 200 kilometer. This is possible in one day, but if you want to see things better plan to overnight somewhere, perhaps Permet or Gjirokaster....
Let me know when the time comes and we can talk...
Hi. I want to go there on August this year. How long will take this route but without go to Kocat and climbing Mali i Stugares? Is this possibble, that on the way back we can go from Cerkovice through Grazdhan and Karroq to Saranda, and could you tell me how long can this take? According to google map this rout has 157km.

What do you think?
The excursion through Karroq looks interesting - we had plans for this as well, but didn't come around doing it. It should not be a problem. From Cerkovice to Vagalat (where there is asphalt) via Karroq is a little more than 30 kilometers, which I think will take at least two hours.
To go as you planned in one day is a lot of driving, and a long day. If you have to do it in one day, why don't you take the asphalt road from Sarande to Jorgucat (near Kakavaje), and back via Leshnice, Cerkovice, Karroq and Vagalat, and then via Butrint back to Saranda (see http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=6658259). That should be perfectly doable, but I would leave in the morning and plan for the whole day - so you can see Butrint on the way. Or do it the other way round.
Here the link so it works....
