Hardest barefoot walk so far. Gorgeous combination of Thai chi, yoga, Qigong, mindfulness, nature bathing, exertion and sweat.
The soft plop of bare feet on a dusty trail
Picking one’s way carefully through a rock garden
The sound of birdsong
A cooling breeze
The hollow clatter of a falling rock dislodged by a misplaced toe
Chats with others inspired by my bare feet
And the company of Mick and Katie? on the homeward run.
Thanks Mick for teaching me how to squat.
Plus finished off with an icy bath in the nearby creek to wash all the dust off.
Heaven!!

The sum is rising and so is the temperature. It was mid 20’s but felt hotter as this section of trail is so steep

The top of the saddle was my first goal but I felt good enough to keep going.

This was my turnaround point. Could have gone further to Little Cathedral Peak but I was starting to get tired and it was hot.
