This is one of the easiest and common hiking routes in Syunik region, Armenia.
Some information about this trail~~~
--- The trail is a part of Transcaucasian Trail ( Տրանսկովկասյան արահետ ) passing through the whole Armenia and Legend's Trail ( Լեգենդների արահետ ) passing through Syunik province, so it's a blazed trail.
--- There are some variations of the trail that goes from Tatev monastery to Devils bridge, this is the best option of all.
--- Though the trail does not go to 17th century Hermitage of Tatev ( Տաթևի անապատ ), it passes very close to it and you may hike there on your own (about 300 m, you'll see the direction signpost to there). I've made a waypoint on that intersection.
--- Actually the trail does not start right from the monastery. It starts from vista point (about 1 km far), so it's better not to hike from Monastery as it's a roadway to Kapan city.
--- SEASON:
*** Hiking season starts here from the end of April and lasts till November.
*** After the end of October the trees became naked and there is a chance of snow after November till March (the trails may be snow-blocked ).
*** The best months are May (greenery, comfy temperature) and October ( picturesque fall ).
*** Summer is very hot in this area.

Nice mountain views, picturesque Tatev monastery, but not so easy in hot August - take more water. Take walking sticks too.
And be ready to cross Vorotan river ford, as there's no bridge.

We walked with our two children of 9 & 11 years old. It was a very adventurous route, doable without any training. It took us 4,5 hours with a few short stops enjoying the scenery. Crossing the little river (August) at the end of the route was a lot of fun!
